There are only 10 days until Ontario’s Anti-Racism Directorate hosts a public meeting in Kitchener-Waterloo.
In the weeks since it was announced that our community would be added to the list of communities hosting a meeting, my office has received dozens of inquiries from community members who want to attend.
My office has not received any information beyond the date of October 24th about where and at what time this meeting will take place. The lack of information is making it difficult for many community members who are personally affected by racism in our Region, and those who are leading efforts to combat it.
Interested community members should join me in contacting the Minister Responsible for Anti-Racism, Michael Coteau, and asking him directly to publicly share information about our community’s meeting. Ontario’s Anti-Racism Directorate is an office we should take seriously, and ending racism in our communities deserves a meeting with due notice.
The Minister Responsible for Anti-Racism can be reached at [email protected] or 416-212-7432.
Thank you to everyone who has contacted my office for your ongoing activism and leadership.
Catherine Fife, MPP
