“On behalf of Ontario’s New Democrats we want to extend our gratitude to Federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh for his positive influence on this year’s federal budget and his determination to stand up for the needs of Canadians from coast to coast to coast. Dental care is health care. We’re happy to see progress on this important program thanks to Jagmeet and the Confidence and Supply Agreement.
We are optimistic that federal measures to restrict international home buyers will help the housing crisis, but unless the province of Ontario takes real action to stop speculators, protect renters, and invest in homes people can afford and support to be housing, too many Ontarians will continue to face housing insecurity. Young families deserve to be able to buy a home in the neighbourhoods where they grew up.
If elected in June, we’ll work with the federal government on the issues that matter most to everyday families.”
